Destination: Southern of Laos

The Namkong River is from the beginning to the end about 1680 Km, is the traditional water borne artery of North-West Laos.from china Heading south, the river cuts through sections of the Nam kong NPA revealing some beautiful stands of old growth forest. 
This trip takes you from Banhatsaykhoun  to the border  of Cambodia and Lao, staying on the island along the way you get a unique insight into Lao peoples traditional lives.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pakse - Ban hatsaykhoun – Dondet- Donkhone island 

Departing from our office in Pakse at 9:30am, you will head down to the Four Thousand Islands or Si Pan Done. By private mini bus or chair car will take 3hrs driving then the kayaking trip starts on the banks of the Nam kong river at the boat Landing of hatsaykhoun village, where you receive kayaking instructions and first practice. After a visit at the lopady island see the life people who living on the island, accelerates at the "Tiger Leaping Rapid". After a day on the river and in the forest, the night is spent in the Village eco-lodge on the island after the confluence of the Numkong River.

Day 2: Ban khone – Liphi fall- Dolphin - Bankhone

After enjoying breakfast we take a short morning walk to visit some of the colonial buildings on the island before continuing onwards to the see the spectacular Lee Phi Waterfall, we stand watching as the waterfall and listen as the water crashes down over the rocks. We enjoy lunch at this magnificent location, after which we paddle on downstream to Ban Hang Khone which takes us through some much more tranquil waters and through the gorges giving you the chance to take in the beautiful views. Arriving at Ban Hang Khone we paddle onwards  to an area inhabited with dolphins. We are working with local authorities to set up a dolphin conservation fund here, a percentage of each tour in the area being dedicated to the fund. After spending some time in the area and hopefully spotting some dolphins then back to Donkhone for overnight 

Day 3 Donkhone –  DonLopady Village - Donkhone

This excursion is an invitation from local villagers to discover their rich and unique culture, where you will be able to live it from the inside.

Explore SouthernLaos traditional lifestyle by boat going through the different channels between all the islands as a local, and discover life in a village through the lens of Buddhism, and meet villagers who will show you how they weave fishing nets, sticky rice basket and different ways of cooking sticky rice.

Day 4: Ban Khone – Khonepasoy  -  Viernkham – khonephaphengfall – Pakse - Border
After enjoying breakfast we cycle to around of Don det Island, after  we enjoy a short walking from Bannkhone  to Khonpasoy Island and begin paddling, from here we head downstream for around three hours to viernkham village, passing through some exciting rapids along the way! After stopping at the Donsadam island  for sightseeing a while we board an a waiting  car which transports take  us to the spectacular KhonePhapheng Waterfall, considered to be the biggest and wildest in southeast Asia… we take some time to take in the amazing views and enjoy lunch which is served amongst the breath taking background! After lunch we take a short walk to view the fall , From here we transfer either back to Pakse or Cambodian border.
