Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Luang Prabang (Lunch +Dinner)

Upon arrival at the airport, you are met and transferred to the hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.

After a short rest, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai and  then we climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Overnight in Luang Prabang. 

Day 2: Luang Prabang - Pak Ou - Kuang Sl waterfall (BF + Lunch + Dinner)

This morning you may want to wake up early and participate in the daily early morning ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving bowls being given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice. 

After breakfast we transfer to the boat pier. Here we board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a taste of the tranquil countryside and an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at Ban Xang Hai to visit the rice wine distillation. 

In afternoon we continue driving to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can splash around in the pools or walk along the forest paths, return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and continue to Ban Phanom, a well known weaving village, return to the city by late evening for observing the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Central Market - Royal Palace - Vang vieng (BF +Lunch +Dinner)

In the morning after breakfast we will visit the Central Market and the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. After visiting these sights in the morning, we take the car for 7 hours drive to Vang Vieng. We will have lunch on the way and arrive in Vang Vieng by evening.

Day 4: Vang vieng- Jang Cave - Lom Cave - local villages - Vientiane (BF +Lunch +Dinner)

After breakfast we take the car for sign seeing in Vang Vieng. We wil go and visit the Jang cave, lom cave and then drive to vientiane. On the way visit Huey Mor village, the fishing village. Then we have lunch at Num Ngum lake, after lunch continue to visit solt village at ban kuen district. We will arrive Vientiane by evening.

Day 5: Vientiane city tour (BF+ Lunch +Dinner)

After breakfast we start our city tour. We will visit Wat PraKeo, one of Laos’ most highly respected temples, now turned into a museum. Its name derives from the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most valued Buddha image which was snatched from them and kept in the temple for over 200 years. Then visit Wat Sisaket, famous for its cloister wall housing thousands of tiny Buddha statues date from 16th and 17th centuries.

We will continue the tour by visiting That Luang, the most important monument in Laos and also a national symbol, then drive to Anousavari also known as the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane as it resembles to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It is dedicated to those who fought in the struggle for independence from France.

Later enjoy a tropical sunset on the Mekong River and dinner at restaurant with delicious Lao dishes and Lao traditional dance.

Day 6: Vientiane - Pakse - Champassak - Don Khong island (BF + Lunch + Dinner)
 
After breakfast we go to the airport and take the morning flight to Pakse. From here we will drive to Champassack and visit Vat Phou. Lao World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2001. We have time to explore these fascinating Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phou Kao. This wonderful archaeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 10th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

After this we will continue by car to Don Khong, one of the 4000 islands. Here we will have dinner at the guesthouse. 

Overnight in Don Khong.

Day 7: Don Khong - Don Khone - Li Phi and Khone Phapheng Falls (BF + Lunch + Dinner)

After breakfast we go around and visit the Islands. We will go and see Ban Khone, a fishermanvillage in Don Khone. In Don Khone we go to see the old locomotive. Further we go see the Li phi waterfall, this is one of the most beautifull waterfalls making the border between Laos and Cambodia, also know as Tat Somphamit.

In the afternoon we will go and visit the muscular Khone Phapheng Falls. It is the biggest waterfall in Southeast Asia and has been named the Pearl of Mekong River. It’s a flow section of the Mekong River which has length of 4000 kilometres from Tibet. The waterfall has height of 21 meters, consists many small waterfalls stretching over 12 kilometres the length of river. It has been dubbed the “Niagara of Asia”.

Overnight in Don Khong.

Day 8: Don Khong/ Departure (BF)

Then at the last day, we will have breakfast and drive back to Pakse. In the afternoon you can choose to be transfered to the border in Thailand (at Chong Meck) for your departure or to Pakse airport for your departure by flight.
