Guesthouse

Generations of our family have already been living on Don Det and until some years ago we were mainly living on rice growing and fishing. In 2001 we founded this small family business. At first there was only a restaurant, but only a few months later the first bungalows were erected. That is how our guesthouse became one of the oldest ones of Don Det.

Me and my wife have been running the restaurant since 2010. Her name is Pheng and my name is Lutz. We also manage the guesthouse, which is still owned by the family. Pheng is the family's daughter and I am from Germany. I have been coming here as a guest from 2001 on and I have been living on Don Det since 2009. In July 2015 our first son "Lukas Sengpachan" was born.

Our guesthouse is situated on the eastern bank in the peaceful centre of the island about 500 metres to the south of the old loading ramp. We are a little away from the hustle and bustle, so here is the ideal place to recover and to explore the nearby landmarks.

Those who are looking for a pleasant and even-tempered atmosphere, for a bungalow right on the banks of the Mekong River and good food should come here. You will still find traditional Lao life, peace and a place for regeneration far away from everyday stress as well as a unique view onto a stream landscape. We have a wonderful sunrise here in the mornings – let alone a glorious moonrise especially for those who are lucky and stay here until full moon.
